Door Warehouse recently completed an aluminium bi-fold door installation for a customer in the Wirral area, helping transform an outdated living space into a more modern, indoor-outdoor space. This project involved removing the original patio sliding doors, which had been in place for more than 40 years, and replacing them with contemporary aluminium bi-fold doors designed to maximise natural light and improve access to the garden.
The Customer’s Goal
The customer originally considered both French doors and bi-fold doors for the space. During the consultation process, the Door Warehouse team provided guidance on which system would best achieve the desired result. Following multiple visits and discussions, bi-fold doors were recommended because they would allow for the space to be fully open and bring the outdoors in and vice versa… weather permitting!

Installation and Technical Details
The installation was surveyed by Dan Maiden and completed by installers John Mc and Mike Jones in just one day.
During installation, the team encountered a technical challenge involving the existing step height. To achieve the desired finish and improve accessibility, some brickwork modifications were required while ensuring the damp course remained fully protected and compliant.
The completed installation was supplied with a FENSA certificate and backed by a 10-year guarantee.

The completed aluminium bi-fold doors dramatically changed the feel of the living room, creating a brighter, more open and contemporary space.
